Trending Wedding Hashtags on Pinterest in 2024

If you own a business in the wedding industry you no doubt know the power of Pinterest for your niche. It is one of the top platforms people flock to while planning out every detail of their wedding.

Creating visually compelling pins is one part of the recipe to having success on Pinterest.  These are some of the wedding pins I've designed for clients in the wedding business in the past.

The other part of reaching potential customers on Pinterest is writing a detailed text description to accompany your optimized image.

While hashtags are super important on other social platforms, over the years the strategy has been a bit hit or miss on Pinterest. In 2024, though, they have gathered a bit more of attention with the recent addition of the super video collage creation app Shuffles on the platform. In this app, hashtags started to play more of a part in discovery, which seems to have carried over to the other styles of content creation on Pinterest.

If you're not familiar with Shuffles, this video by miscdiaries on YouTube is a good overview of the basic concept of the app.

With that said, the question is whether or not you should worry about adding hashtags to your wedding focused pins? In my experience, it doesn’t hurt. Just follow a few simple rules:

  1. Only consider adding 3-5 hashtags relevant to your content. (Bonus tip: If you’re using the app suggested hashtags will populate if you start tying in the description. For example, typing  #wedding will start to auto-populate with top suggestions!)
  2. Don’t clutter your text description with your hashtag choices. Add them to the end of text description.
  3. Consider creating one hashtag specific to your brand & adding it to every post. That way if people click it, they will see a page in Pinterest of all your pins with that hashtag.

Ultimately, if you decide not to worry about messing with hashtags on Pinterest, it is probably ok. They do provide another 'low risk' way for people to potentially discover your content,  though, so adding a few probably can't hurt in the long run.

Here are some of the top trending hashtags on Pinterest for the wedding industry, to help get you started: #weddingplanner #wedding #weddinginspiration #weddingplanning #bride #weddinginspo #bridetobe #weddingideas #weddingday #weddings

Happy pinning & best of luck!

5 Starter Pinterest Tips for Businesses in 2024      Maybe you started a Pinterest business account many years ago and abandoned it because you were overwhelmed. Maybe you’re coming to Pinterest brand new. Either way, these quick 5 tips from an account manager with a lot of experience will hopefully help.  1 - Create Pinterest Boards that mirror the categories of your site.             One thing that I have seen businesses & bloggers get hung up on is board creation when getting their Pinterest account going. The easiest way to attack this is to create boards that mirror the content categories of your website.        For instance, the examples shown below I used the specific categories of my client’s website to lay out the boards on their corresponding Pinterest page.       If you have a recipe blog, for instance, each of the boards on Pinterest can match the recipe categories from your site. Likewise if you have a shop, each product category can be represented. This will not onl

Static Pinterest Pin Sizes Guide for 2023

In the Pinterest world of video pins, idea pins, & more, static or ‘regular’ pins are still the best preforming pins for my clients. Pinterest’s algorithm tends to push their preferred content sizes to the top of searches. As such, you’ll want to make sure your pins are make in those sizes.   Here’s a quick guide to the best sizes for static pins in 2023.   1. Board Cover Pins. While most pins on Pinterest should always be long, vertical or portrait by nature, the main pin that promotes each board on your account is one of the exceptions.   Board Cover Pins are square in nature. For optimal quality 2024x2024 is the best size. Here’s an example of optimized Board Cover Pins I did for a client (zoom room).  2. General Static Pins. On a day-to-day basis the most common graphic you will want to make to promote your content is 1000x1500 (or 2x3). This size can also be used for multi-slide ‘Carousel Pins’ that Pinterest lets you make to promote your content on their platform.   3. W
